Final touches are being given to the gigantic Lord Ganesh idol of Khairatabad, which this year will have a height of 57 feet long.

For the year 2018, the Ganesh idol at khairatabad has been named as 'Saptha Mukha Kala Sarpa Maha Ganapathi' (i.e, seven-headed Ganesha) at pandal for the Ganesh Chaturthi festival which will begin on 13th September.

The Khairatabad Ganesh Utsav Committee (KGUC) on Sunday released the image of 'Saptha Mukha Kala Sarpa Maha Ganapathi'. According to the KGUC, the height of the idol is 57 feet and it is prepared with Plaster of Paris (PoP) instead of mud.

About Sculptor Designer:

The preparation of the idol has taken up under the supervision of sculptor C Rajendran who is from Tamil Nadu.

He is preparing the Khairatabad Ganesha idol for more than three decades, helped artists prepare the image. The preparation of the idol will be taken up under his supervision.

Mr. Rajendran revealed that the theme behind the idol is to provide good future for devotees and that nearly 30 tonnes of PoP will be using for the idol adding that the laddu in Ganesha's hand will also be made of PoP.

The cost of the construction would be around Rs 12 lakh to Rs 15 lakh, said Khairtabad Ganesh Utsav Committee organizer Raj Kumar Singari.

Nearly 60 to 80 skilled workers from Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh will take part in the preparation of the idol, the sculptor said.

The Committee didn't reveal any update on "Laddu".

So, finally this year the khairatabad Ganesh Utsav Committee planning for full of surprises for the devotee.
